about me
I am originally from the Metroplex (that's the Dallas/Fort Worth area for you non-Texans!). I graduated with a B.S. in Electronic Media from Abilene Christian University in 2003, and have over 7 years experience in broadcast television and new media. I started my professional career at the CBS affiliate in Abilene Texas, KTAB-TV, in 2001 just 2 weeks before 9/11. I started out as a production assistant and quickly developed a passion for information technologies. After a year I became a promotional editor, and after another year I was promoted to my first management position. Afterwards, I worked as a manager in virtually every department at the station, from Production to Creative Services and New Media. In 2003, KTAB merged with the local NBC affiliate to become Abilene's first television duopoly. I played an integral part in the merger as well as the launching of the stations' New Media initiative, BigCountryHomepage.com. I still am working in collaboration with the stations to continue the growth of the website today.
In 2009 I took the position as a Multimedia Designer with Texas State Technical College. Though it's a bit different than Television - well, a LOT different - I'm enjoying learning many new things about information technology and the education industry. Currently my position has me working closely with TSTC's RN Nursing department, as they move the entire degree to an online platform.
